THREE DORSET WALKS
WALK ONE – THE COASTLINE WALK
WEST BAY TO GOLDEN CAP AND CHARMOUTH
Walk westwards either along the beach or along the coastal path from West Bay along to Golden Cap at Seatown. This walk is about 5 miles in distance and if you wish to continue to Charmouth this is a further 2/3 miles.
This is a particularly notable area for fossils – in fact Charmouth and Lyme Regis attract visitors from all over the world to admire the fossils. According to the locals the fossils in Burton Bradstock are of a younger variety!
BURTON BRADSTOCK TO ABBOTSBURY
Walk eastwards along the beach (or the coastal path for the first few miles) with Chesil Beach stretching out before you. Abbotsbury is well known for its beautiful Sub-Tropical Gardens and Swannery. This walk is about 7/8 miles in distance.
BURTON BRADSTOCK TO WEST BAY
For the more relaxed walker: try walking westwards along the beach or along the coastal path from Hive Beach and the Burton Bradstock cliffs to West Bay. This is a shorter walk of only about 2 miles in distance.
